I am a Devon Elopement Photographer, I absolutely love photographing Elopements, they are small, intimate, emotional and joyful! Well all you need to do is give notice at your local registry office, book your venue and have two witnesses attend the ceremony, witnesses could be staff at the venue, your trusty photographer, friends or family, you could even do it the old fashioned way and ask two stranger off the street!
When I photograph elopements, it’s all about the emotion, my style is documentary so I am looking for all the little touches, the glances, the laughs and the tears. I focus on the surroundings too, when it’s just the couple there aren’t any distractions, so photographing the venue you have chosen is really important as I am creating a visual story of your day. My approach is the same at all weddings, I shoot things as they happen, the things you do naturally are the most beautiful. I gently direct you, we do lots of walking and chatting, I find going out adventuring after the ceremony not only gives your great pictures it’s a wonderful and relaxing thing to do and a memory you will have for years to come.
Lots of people have a big party with all their friends and family a few days after the elopement, so you can still celebrate with your nearest and dearest and still have your wedding your way.
