Eloping to Cornwall gets a big thumbs up from me. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate what essentially comes down to something just the two of you decide to do. It is wildly romantic and the ceremonies have to be some of the most special I have ever been a part of. It’s an absolute honour to be present at a Cornish Elopement and there are a number of beautiful venues along the Cornish Coast that specialise in Elopements. I will list a few of my favourites later.

I have been lucky enough to photograph small intimate elopements for the last 5 years. They are becoming very popular for many reasons. It’s not always down to finances but let’s be honest it’s a lot less expensive when its just the two of you. Lot’s of couples just want it to be them, private and intimate. Some couples can’t cope with the stress of organising a big wedding and for some shy couples a big wedding would make them anxious and it just wouldn’t be a wonderful experience for them.

Your wedding day should be exactly the way you want it. All you need are two witnesses over the age of 18 to be present at your ceremony and that’s it. You can at this point have a think about whether you wanted to invite some close family members, just your parents or siblings or perhaps your best friends. Or if you don’t want any one else but the two of you, someone from your venue can be present and of course your trusty photographer can also be a witness whilst capturing the magic. I have been a witness on countless occasions, it’s always such an honour signing to say you’ve seen two people make the biggest commitment to each other.
